The Artist

Tünde Hagymásy a native of Hungary.  She has received her BFA and MFA from Janus Pannonius Tudományegyetem in Pécs , Hungary.  After graduation she worked as an art teacher in that university city.  Later she moved to New Jersey with her American husband.   After receiving her BA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, she became a fashion designer in NYC.

She works mostly in oil on canvas, although recently she is in the process of rediscovering watercolor.  She is open to all mediums, even textile arts.  While at FIT, she explored printmaking on textiles and fabric creation and fabric manipulation.

She finds inspiration in nature and seeks to incorporate some of the natural world into her works.

She lives in New Jersey with her husband and two children.
